Games

The circles

To warm you up and get to know each other, we'd like to suggest two games that we're particularly fond of.
Projectile weapons not authorised!

Circles with honour : Nothing could be simpler. You choose an opponent, you greet each other, you fight, you thank each other as respectable people that you are and then the loser can leave the battlefield. The other participants do the same at the same time. If you win, you choose another opponent to fight. The game ends with the final duel.

Circles without honour : The Viking battle royal. No salutes, no civility, no honour... Just one objective: to be the last man standing in a battle where everyone is fighting for their lives. You can do it solo, but you can also work as part of a larger or smaller team, depending on your numbers. This team exercise is an excellent way to learn how to manage group cohesion, strategic positioning and movement.
If you want to make the battle last longer (cardio, fatigue, etc...), you can also use the respawn rule: the person killed leaves the field or moves to a designated area, waits 5 or 10 seconds (depending on your numbers) and then returns to the battle.

Bridge

Compete in teams of 5 in a confined area with a shield placed on the ground in each side's starting zone. There are two ways to win:
- kill all opponents
- hit the opponent's shield without being killed

The combat zone is a representation of a bridge (4m x 8m) that both teams want to take control of, so if you step outsidewe'll throw you in the wateryou're out.

Shooting weapons not permitted! Restrictions on weapons (epee/langseax and danaxe) do not apply to bridges!

Protection rules for lamellar, chainmail and helmets no longer count!

As with duels, if you want to make the battle last longer (cardio, fatigue, etc...), you can also use the respawn rule: the person killed leaves the bridge, returns to their starting zone, waits 5 seconds and then returns to the battle.

Capture the banner

Setting up :

  • Two teams are formed.
  • Each team has a Banner Zone.
  • Each team has a Respawn Zone.

How to win :
You have to manage to pick up your opponent's banner and take it back to your own Banner Zone.

Special rules :

  • When a fighter is killed, he must return to his team's Respawn Zone and wait 15 seconds (time to be adapted according to your numbers) before returning to the game.
  • If a fighter is killed while carrying a banner, he must drop it in the exact spot where he died and return to his Respawn Zone.
  • It is forbidden to take or move one's own banner .
